Day Nr7: Going to San Francisco

When we woke up in the Hotel in Vancouver Marjan was immidiatly singing “We are going to San Francisco” and Chris got irritated.

So we left the hotel at around 8:40 am to drive to the airport Vancouver – Main Terminal. During the check in we got asked if we have the ESTA filled out and we got the boarding passes as well as the luggage tags, but we had to take the luggage ourselves  to the baggage ramp which was on the way to the border processing. After passing this point we went through the security check and further to the Immigration to USA – which was very easy and also funny.
Chris finger prints weren´t necessary because only from age 14 and older it is a must. Marjan was the first of us three to talk with the officer, and she was asked “where do u life”, Marjan said she is living in Bergheim/ Austria, but I thought he meant where we stay in San Francisco, where the officer made joke and told me I am wrong she is write because he didnt asked about the hotel

San Francisco

When we arrived at San Francisco Intl Airport we went with the terminal train to the rental car station, which was the last station at all getting a nice SUV (Ford Escape) we drove to the city which took us quite a long time, sometimes about 25min. for only 1 mile driving. Finally we arrive at the hotel where we got a nice welcome and an upgraded room on Level 25, with a limited view to the Golden Gate bridge, because of the fog which is always arround here at this area. The temperature is positive arround 17°C, but quite cold, because it is so windy.
