Day Nr11: Salinas > Santa Barbara
Today was the toughest route at all – we drove from Salinas back to Monterey to head south on Highway #1 along the coast to Santa Barbara and further to Camarillo – about 300 miles.
After a view stops at the seaside we stopped at a point where we saw a lot of seaelephants and squirrels, the last ones also have eaten out of our hands. The whole trip to Santa Barbara took us about 7hrs with the breaks in between. We had only a short break to get a view gallons of gas in the middle of nowhere, because the gas was more the 1USD more expensive in “Big Sur”, lunchbreak and a full refill of the gas in “San Luis Obispo”.
Then we followed the US101 down to Santa Barbara, where we ended at about 3pm, we made a nice beach break till about 5pm.
For the final leg of this this we made a scenic route and than followed again the US101 over to Camarillo, where we stayed again in a Motel6.
For our dinner we made it easy and took a take away pizza in the”Premium Outlet” in Camarillo.
