Day 6: A Cozy Departure from Telegraph Cove
Our journey began with a cozy last night at the Telegraph Cove Resort. After savoring a warm cup of coffee, we packed our belongings and checked out, making a quick stop at the local central store.
The drive from Telegraph Cove to Campbell River spans approximately 200 km, and we enjoyed the tranquility of the route, free from radio and phone signals. After a scenic two-hour drive, we arrived in Campbell River and made our first stop at Walmart to grab breakfast essentials for the coming days.
Next, we explored the vibrant harbor area, indulging in a delicious lunch at a nearby eatery. With our appetites satisfied, we reached out to our Airbnb host, who graciously allowed us an early check-in, with an amazing view.
Once settled into our charming rental, we took some time to unwind before heading out for and adventure and dinner. Our first adventure took us to the Quinsam River, where we learned about the possibility of bear sightings. We parked near the river and followed the Quinsam Hatchery Trail, eagerly anticipating the wildlife.
Our patience was rewarded when we spotted a magnificent brown bear gracefully moving along the riverbank. It was a breathtaking moment that added excitement to our day.
We capped off our evening with a delightful dinner at Moxie’s, reflecting on the day’s adventures and the beauty of the Canadian wilderness.
