Day 7: A Day at Elk Falls and Campbell River
We woke up to a bright, sun-drenched morning, with the warm rays of sunlight creating a perfect start to the day.
After breakfast, we visited Elk Falls, where we enjoyed a scenic hike along the trail leading to the suspension bridge. The views were breathtaking, but unfortunately, our plan to continue along the trail to Deer Falls was cut short due to a closure. After discovering the closed signs, we made our way back to the car and decided to drive to the visitor center, where we parked.
Lunch and Exploring Campbell River
After parking at the Discovery Fishing Pier parking, we took a short walk to Session & Tap for lunch, where we had an amazing pizza and a refreshing drink. Following lunch, we strolled through Campbell River’s main shopping street, taking in the local atmosphere before heading back to the car via the boardwalk. Along the way, we passed the BC Ferries terminal, where ferries depart to Quadra Island.
We made a brief stop at the wildlife center, where we were lucky enough to spot some seals. Continuing along the boardwalk, we were thrilled to catch a glimpse of orcas in the distance—a truly magical experience.
Relaxing Afternoon and Evening
After returning to the car, we spent a relaxing afternoon on the patio at our accommodation, soaking in the peaceful surroundings. In the evening, we went out for sushi, enjoying a delicious meal to cap off the day. Back at home, we shared a small bottle of wine, a thoughtful welcome gift from our host, which made for a perfect end to a lovely day.
