Day 15: Departure Day from Abbotsford

After a final night in Abbotsford, we enjoyed a good breakfast with Marlies. Following a pleasant conversation and packing the last of our belongings into our suitcases, we left Abbotsford around 11:15 AM. Fortunately, there was no traffic, and after a brief stop at the gas station near the airport, we arrived at the airport by approximately 12:30 PM, where we returned the rental car.

Journey through Frankfurt to Salzburg
At 12:45 PM, we reached the luggage drop-off, which opened around 1:05 PM. After dropping off our bags, we went through security (there was no passport control this time) and checked into the priority lounge. We waited there until boarding, which began about 1 hour and 20 minutes late. We finally left the gate at 5:15 PM, but it wasn’t until around 5:55 PM that we began our taxi to the runway.

Due to our late disembarkation at YVR, we arrived about an hour later than planned, which meant we had to rush to catch our connecting flight in Frankfurt. Fortunately, thanks to the purser, we were able to exit the plane as soon as he opened the door.

We hurried through passport control and made our way to the gate, arriving about 20 minutes before boarding began.

Once on the plane, we waited for more than 30 minutes, possibly due to our luggage. After finally leaving the parking position, we traversed the entire Frankfurt airport area before reaching the runway.

We arrived in Salzburg at 2:15 PM, where Chris was there to pick us up.
