Day 6: On the way to Whistler
A very scenic drive from Kamloops to Whistler this is one of most beautiful rides we did this vacation. We left Kamloops at around 0930 in the morning.
Via Highway 1 “Trans Canada Highway” we drove to the west direction to “Cache Creek”, this part of the highway is along Kamloops lake and Thomson river.
In Cache Creek we drove North on Highway 97 to direction of Clinton & turned at “Historic Hat Creek” on road 99 to direction Whistler.
Shortly after Lillooet we made a break for lunch at a very nice place close to a small river
After we had our lunch break we drove further on the scenic Duffey Lake Road (99) and made another break at the Duffey Lake Viewpoint, where we had an amazing view.
We arrived in Whistler at about 3:30pm and checked in at our lovely camping site at the border of Whistler. After checkin we drove to the center of Whistler and made a nice walk in the center area which seems to be a Mountain bike hotspot in summer time and in Winter one of the famous Ski resorts.
In the evening we a had a very nice dinner at the KEG – amazing Steaks – and afterwards we did a small walk in the downtown Whistler then we went back to our Jurte
